Bernie Sanders Dismisses The Koch Brothers' 'Kookie Crazy' Influence

WASHINGTON — Bernie Sanders is still fighting the influence of the Koch brothers.

The Vermont Senator spoke at the screening of Robert Greenwald's updated documentary, "Koch Brothers Exposed: 2014 Edition," Tuesday night.

Sanders again railed against the Supreme Court's Citizens United ruling. But he also took the opportunity to discuss the history of the billionaire family, reminding the audience that David Koch ran for vice president on the Libertarian Party ticket in 1980, with a platform that Sanders said was considered "kookie crazy" at the time. He went on to argue -- by quoting from that platform -- that the fringe elements of Koch's vice presidential bid now sound like the agendas of the GOP and Koch Brothers today.
